ABOUT CANNINGTON 

Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead.  Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.

Flights are direct to the onsite airport, and the mine is only 3.5 km from camp—the perfect distance for a sunset walk or run home along a purpose-built walking track. The onsite accommodation includes meal services, sports/gym facilities, swimming pool, music room, and social area.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

This is a Permanent position on an 8:6/7:7 rotating day/night shift roster, FIFO from Brisbane or Townsville, or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires.

As the Short Interval Controller, you will be responsible for guiding and driving the Operations team in real time to meet daily, weekly and monthly targets. You’ll make tactical, data-driven decisions to adjust plans and stay on track, working closely with the Scheduling team and Underground Shift Supervisors

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

• Lead and promote safe work practices across the team
• Control and adjust plans in real-time from the Underground Control Room
• Work with Supervisors to build shift plans and manage schedule deviations
• Maintain accurate records to track and support compliance

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

• Strong background in underground mining, from either an Operations or Engineering/Scheduling role
• Sound understanding of Weekly and Daily shift planning
• Excellent communicator and team collaborator
• Confident interpreting operational data and taking action

Qualifications for this position are: 

• Trade or Degree qualified, or significant industry experience in Underground Operations
• Current drivers’ license.
