ABOUT CANNINGTON

 

Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead.  Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.

 

Flights are direct to the onsite airport, and the mine is only 3.5 km from camp—the perfect distance for a sunset walk or run home along a purpose-built walking track. The onsite accommodation includes meal services, sports/gym facilities, swimming pool, music room, and social area.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

 

This is a permanent position on a 4:3 roster, FIFO from Brisbane/Townsville, or DIDO from Mount Isa to Cannington. Also, you will have the option to work 25% of the time from home, having a great work-life balance!

 

As the Reliability Engineer – Mobile, you will drive reliability improvements and defect elimination for underground fleets (Haul Trucks, Loaders, Drills, etc.), with a strong focus on life cycle cost management. Additionally, you will develop and enhance maintenance strategies, using your analytical skills to find the optimal balance between cost, risk, and performance.

 

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

 

  • Developing and implementing strategies to improve mobile fleets reliability and performance, driving continuous improvement to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Perform failure analysis and root cause investigations.
  • Identify process gaps and/or improvements that will sustain best reliability practices to increase uptime and optimise maintenance costs.
  • Develop, implement, maintenance strategies to ensure balance between costs, risks, and performance of mobile assets.

 

 

 

ABOUT YOU 

 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

 

  • Solid experience in Mining or Heavy Industries
  • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision making.
  • Highly skilled in the use of qualitative reliability techniques, such as root cause analysis (Kepner-Tregoe, Apollo, etc.), FMEA and others
  • Proactive in identifying and resolving problems and/or improvements opportunities
  • Proficient in the use of SAP (highly desirable) with an understanding of master data requirements.

 

 

Qualifications for this position are: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or related field).
