ABOUT CANNINGTON  

Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead.  Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville. Cannington mine provides on-site accommodation including meal services, as well as sporting and gym facilities.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

This is a permanent position on an 8:6 roster, FIFO from Townsville/Brisbane/Cairns or 4:3 from Townsville/Brisbane. You can also DIDO from Mount Isa to Cannington.

As the Operations Engineer – Analysis & Improvement, you will work with the Operations Engineering team to collate, analyse and streamline all reporting requirements as well as identify, lead and implement mining projects and strategies to optimise and improve safety and performance and ensure continued compliance to mining plans.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

• Collate and analyse data from multiple sources to deliver accurate and timely daily, weekly and monthly reports.
• Support best practice through use of functional systems, monitoring key performance measure and sustaining continuous improvement processes.
• Complete daily report identifying discrepancies to plan and deliver at daily mining meeting.
• Conduct and updates to production dashboards.

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

• Previous experience working in an Underground Mining Operation.
• Working knowledge of the processes involved in underground mining.
• High level Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient in gathering and interpreting high volumes of data and information.
• Previous experience using business improvement methodologies and tools is desirable.

Qualifications for this position are: 

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering.
• In the absence of formal qualifications, applicants with significant experience in an Underground Mining Operation and environment will be considered.
