ABOUT CANNINGTON 

Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead.  Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.

Flights are direct to the onsite airport, and the mine is only 3.5 km from camp—the perfect distance for a sunset walk or run home along a purpose-built walking track. The onsite accommodation includes meal services, sports/gym facilities, swimming pool, music room, and social area.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

This role is a permanent position on an 8:6 Monday to Monday roster, FIFO from Brisbane or Townsville, or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires.

As the Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for improving asset reliability and maintenance effectiveness by analysing performance, identifying risks, and implementing solutions that enhance safe and reliable plant operation.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

• Lead area performance oversight across availability, cost, safety & operational metrics
• Conduct FMEA/RCA and recommend actions to resolve reliability issues
• Develop reliability standards, programmes and procedures to uplift plant performance
• Support risk identification and mitigation to ensure safe, compliant operation of equipment

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

• Strong background in reliability, maintenance or engineering within heavy industry
• Ability to interpret data and technical standards to guide sound decision‑making
• Skilled in structured problem‑solving and qualitative reliability methodologies
• Confident communicator who builds effective relationships across operational team
• Proficiency with SAP and MS Office

Qualifications for this position are: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
• RPEQ or CPEng (preferred)
• Current Drivers Licence
