ABOUT CANNINGTON 

Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead.  Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.

Flights are direct to the onsite airport, and the mine is only 3.5 km from camp—the perfect distance for a sunset walk or run home along a purpose-built walking track. The onsite accommodation includes meal services, sports/gym facilities, swimming pool, music room, and social area.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

This role is a Permanent position on a 7:7 roster, FIFO from Brisbane, Townsville or Cairns, or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires.

As the Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems across the Cannington village and Site Services buildings, ensuring safe electrical practices for the team.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

• Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical appliances, wiring, and lighting systems.
• Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, blueprints, and compliance schematics.
• Troubleshooting electrical issues using testing devices and carrying out repairs.
• Operating SAP software to create work notifications, track orders, and manage materials.
• Work outside of your trade to assist other team members of the Site Services team with daily tasks.

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

• In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, including wiring, power generation, and maintenance.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills to address electrical issues effectively.
• A proactive, safety-driven mindset, following safety protocols and promoting risk reduction.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in diverse environments, including outdoors in extreme weather.

Qualifications for this position are: 

• Trade Electrical Fitter Mechanic Licence
• Class C or higher Drivers Licence
• Split System Installation Licence highly regarded.
• EWP and Forklift High Risk Work Licence highly regarded
