ABOUT THE ROLE 

 

This role is a Permanent, full-time position (40 hours per week) on a nine-day fortnight roster, based at our Boddington Bauxite Mine, reporting to the Manager Environment & Heritage.

As Environment Specialist, you will provide specialist biodiversity advice at Worsley Alumina, meeting approval conditions and internal standards, managing biodiversity risk/opportunity, and delivering credible rehabilitation and restoration outcomes with site teams and external partners.

We welcome applications from biodiversity professionals outside mining and resources (e.g., government, consulting, infrastructure, energy, utilities, forestry, land management, research and not-for-profit), provided you bring strong applied biodiversity and approvals capability.

Please note that accommodation is not provided on site, you will be required to drive in, drive out to site on a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hour’s drive of Boddington.

 

 

ABOUT YOU

 

You’ll bring demonstrated experience managing biodiversity and environmental risk.

To succeed in this role, you’ll ideally have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Ecology/Environmental Science/ Land Management or related disciplines
  • Ability to effectively communicate with various levels of the business and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of key concepts, theories and practices related to the identification and effective control of environmental related risks
