ABOUT Vancouver
The Vancouver office, located at Oceanic Plaza in Vancouver's CBD, supports South32’s Corporate Development and Exploration functions. The office was recently refurbished and provides a bespoke workplace environment with access to a vast array of amenities in proximity of key transport options.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As Specialist, Contractor Management you will act as a steward and champion for South32's Contractor Management Standard, processes and governance representing the North America Exploration team. In partnership with the exploration team you will oversee the successful development and execution of all short- and long-term contractor management and supply strategies that are heavily weighted towards safe and efficient performance and execution that is responsible and sustainable.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
• Lead and demonstrate a commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development through personal behaviours and leadership.
• Embed South32’s Contractor Management standard performance and compliance into the NAMEX team’s work.
• Act as the Contractor Management Process Owner (CMPO) for the Contract Management Team.
• Develop and maintain relationships within Exploration’s Operational and Functional Lead Team members.
• Demonstrate leadership through personal behaviors that are consistent with South32 Values of Trust, Care, Togetherness and Excellence and the Code of Business Conduct.
• Foster a culture that strives to add and drive value and innovation within Exploration.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills while engaging with internal and external stakeholders to positively influence key business outcomes.
• Ensure good organization and management of contracts and documents, implementing efficient systems to maintain accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with South32 standards and regulatory requirements.
ABOUT YOU
• Previous experience and/or familiarity in a similar role within mineral exploration, mining or related field while championing supply chain, standards, and processes.
• Tertiary qualification in a relevant degree (preferable)
• 5+ years’ experience working with governance or contract management.
• 5+ years’ experience in a mining or similar industry.
• Ability to consult and collaborate with others to influence positive outcomes.
• Expertise and deep knowledge of contractor management processes.
• Provide stewardship, coaching and support to others that enables their success.
Salary range for this role $114,600 to $172,000 CAD
