ABOUT SANTIAGO OFFICE

South32 acquired an ownership interest in the Sierra Gorda Joint Venture (SG JV) copper mining operation in northern Chile. The newly established Chile Copper business unit is responsible for maximising the value of South32’s investment in the SG JV and mitigating our risk exposures. This role is considered a critical capability of the Chile Copper team.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Provides specialized Health, Safety, Community and Operations support to the Greenfields Exploration team and other sub-functions under Corporate Development.

The role provides operational and HSEC support for the safe execution of Greenfields exploration activities in South America and in accordance with South32 standards, Greenfields exploration operational protocols, approved field reconnaissance and work programs . operational.

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Degree in relevant geoscience discipline
• Demonstrable experience in the management and reporting of HSEC requirements in an Industrial and or Mining and Resources environment.
• Previous experience working with global Greenfields Exploration field teams would be highly regarded.
• Strong multi-commodity geoscience evaluation and targeting background, developed from substantive early to advanced stage exploration and development experience across diverse deposit styles and geographies

EXPERIENCE

15+ years' experience in a HSEC role for global exploration or resource industry group/exploration or consulting.

Experience in advising and working with Exploration teams will be highly regarded.
