South32's Perth office is based in the heart of the CBD and is a modern, fit-for-purpose workplace designed to foster collaboration, innovation and performance. The office houses key functions including Human Resources, Finance, Investor Relations, Corporate Development, Commercial, Technical, Legal and External Affairs. Our office is conveniently located a short five-minute walk from the Perth Underground and Elizabeth Quay Train Stations.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

 

As Workplace & Facilities Specialist, you will ensure high-quality, safe and compliant office facilities across South32’s global corporate locations, aligned with organisational standards and values.

 

Reporting to the Manager Workplace and Travel, you will oversee facility performance, contractor delivery, asset lifecycle activities and regulatory compliance. You will support workplace safety governance, manage facility risk processes, contribute to budgeting and reporting, and help strengthen an inclusive, high-performing facilities function through collaboration, guidance and continuous improvement

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Deliver safe, compliant and high-quality facility management across South32’s global corporate offices, ensuring alignment with the Corporate Office Standard, business needs and statutory requirements.
  • Manage contractor performance, budget governance, maintenance activities and asset lifecycle planning, ensuring services meet quality, safety and operational expectations.
  • Lead and support workplace safety and risk stewardship activities, including identifying hazards, overseeing compliance obligations and contributing to safety committees and governance processes.
  • Oversee landlord relationships, planned and reactive maintenance, office readiness and the accuracy of facility data, documentation and reporting across the global office portfolio.
  • Provide informed guidance to internal stakeholders on facility standards, regulatory requirements and operational impacts, supporting change initiatives and organisational projects as needed.
  • Mentor and engage team members to promote an inclusive, high-performing culture and contribute to continuous improvement of facility systems, processes and frameworks.

 

 

ABOUT YOU 

 

  • Applying strong facilities or property management judgement in complex environments, supported by 3–5 years’ relevant experience.
  • Leading stakeholder engagement, influencing outcomes and supporting organisational change with confidence and professionalism.
  • Translating complex issues into clear, strategic recommendations and practical, solutions-focused actions.
  • Making balanced decisions using expert input, business needs and safety considerations to guide high-quality outcomes.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or recognised project management qualifications

 

Desirable

 

  • SAP experience and strong budget management capability.
