ABOUT PERTH OFFICE
South32’s corporate office is based in the heart of Perth’s CBD. The corporate office houses key functions including HR, Finance, Corporate Development, Investor Relations, Group Risk and Technical. Our office is conveniently located a 5-minute walk from the Perth Underground Train Station.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a permanent, full-time position, Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate must be based at our head office in Perth.
The Specialist, Workplace & Travel is responsible for maintaining and supporting office facilities across South32's global locations. You'll ensure our workspaces meet corporate standards, comply with business and regulatory requirements, and align with company values. Your focus will be on delivering practical, cost-effective facilities solutions that provide what our teams need while keeping budgets in check, ensuring our offices operate effectively without incurring unnecessary costs.
Reporting to Manager Workplace & Travel, other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Champion safety and wellbeing across all our office locations, taking ownership of health, safety, and environmental standards for our global office portfolio, while actively participating in wellbeing initiatives that make our workplaces better for everyone.
- Keep our offices running smoothly and efficiently, from handling day-to-day operations to coordinating maintenance and asset lifecycles, you'll ensure our facilities meet corporate standards while maximising the value of every dollar spent.
- Support innovative space solutions and compliance, help optimise office layouts based on business needs, ensure we meet all regulatory requirements, and provide practical guidance to operations teams when they need facilities expertise.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and collaborate with teammates to identify opportunities to enhance our facilities and travel services while supporting team members and embracing South32's values of collaboration and inclusive teamwork.
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Bring your workplace safety background to help everyone stay safe, whether you've learned through formal training, hands-on experience, or both. Your understanding of safety practices and regulations will help create welcoming workspaces where all our people can succeed.
- Experience from property, travel, or related fields, combined with a background in commercial spaces, travel coordination, or similar areas, will contribute valuable insights to keeping our offices running smoothly for everyone.
- Connect authentically with people from all backgrounds as you collaborate with teammates and partners across different roles, locations, and perspectives, and assist with supporting various projects while building genuine relationships that move work forward.
- Tackle challenges with creative problem-solving skills by breaking down complex situations into workable solutions, drawing on different viewpoints and approaches to develop recommendations that work for our diverse business needs.
- Use thoughtful judgment in your daily decisions by considering input from various sources and different perspectives and make informed choices that keep our operations running smoothly and inclusively.
- Contribute your strengths while embracing our values of collaboration and respect for all team members.
Qualifications for this position are:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, engineering or project management related disciplines or at least five years relevant experience in corporate travel or a property related field.
