ABOUT PERTH OFFICE

 

 

South32’s corporate office is based in the heart of Perth’s CBD. The corporate office houses key functions including HR, Finance, Corporate Development, Investor Relations, Group Risk and Technical. Our office is conveniently located a 5-minute walk from the Perth Underground Train Station.

ABOUT THE ROLE

 

This permanent position will be located in our Perth office. We understand and value the benefits of flexibility and operate a hybrid work model (in the office and from home).

 

You will be responsible for delivering end-to-end category management that optimises commercial outcomes, strengthens supplier performance, and ensures safe, high-performing operations across South32’s regional and global projects.

 

Key deliverables for the role are, but aren’t limited to:

  • Developing and executing category strategies that deliver cost, performance and sustainability benefits.
  • Leading tendering, sourcing, negotiations and contract activities in line with governance requirements.
  • Building collaborative relationships with internal teams and suppliers to enable quality delivery and surety of supply.
  • Monitoring supplier performance and supply-chain risk, implementing improvements and mitigation strategies.

 

ABOUT YOU  

 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

  • Influencing and partnering with diverse stakeholders to shape commercial and operational outcomes.
  • Applying strong judgement in contract management, negotiations and risk identification.
  • Managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment while maintaining accuracy and clarity.
  • Bringing an inclusive, solutions-focused approach that supports innovation, value creation and team culture

 

Qualifications for this position are: 

  • A bachelor’s degree or post-secondary studies in commerce, supply chain, law or a related discipline.
  • MCIPS is advantageous.
