South32's Perth office is based in the heart of the CBD and is a modern, fit-for-purpose workplace designed to foster collaboration, innovation, and performance. The office houses key functions including Human Resources, Finance, Investor Relations, Corporate Development, Commercial, Technical, Legal and External Affairs. Our office is conveniently located a short five-minute walk from the Perth Underground and Elizabeth Quay Train Stations.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

 

This role is a 6-month fixed term contract opportunity, with possibility of extension, working Monday to Friday. An immediate start is preferred.

 

As the Payroll/HR Administrator (Employee Movements) - HR Services APAC, you will be responsible for actively contributing to achieving high-performance payroll movements administration, including end to end processing of new hires, onboarding, transfers and termination payments for the Asia Pacific Region. This will be achieved by working closely with your HR Services team and our Operation Sites, while maintaining up-to-date, accurate, and timely employee data in our HR and Payroll Management Systems.

 

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Ensure alignment to internal controls, standards and procedures in line with the payroll calendar for the Asia Pacific region
  • Ensure all queries and employee data management requirements are managed on time, accurately and within the defined service level definitions
  • Demonstrate and promote operational discipline when executing day-to-day activities
  • Highlight and contribute to improvement initiatives in existing processes, practices and systems

 

ABOUT YOU 

 

You will ideally have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

  • Payroll Officer / HR Administration professional with 3 years+ experience, which includes knowledge of employment law, payroll statutory & legislation requirements.
  • Experience with SAP & Success Factors or similar Payroll / HR system applications.
  • Effective communication skills including the ability to explain complex issues.
  • An excellent team player.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet payroll deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to process information accurately.
  • Develop supportive relationships with others in the HR Function, Line Leaders and Stakeholders across the business.

 

Qualifications for this position are: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as human resources, business, or related disciplines. (Desirable)
  • Recent graduates with advanced analytical, problem solving and Office 365 (Excel) skills are also encouraged to apply.
