ABOUT PERTH OFFICE

 

South32’s corporate office is based in the heart of Perth’s CBD. The corporate office houses key functions including HR, Finance, Corporate Development, Investor Relations, Group Risk and Technical. Our office is conveniently located a 5-minute walk from the Perth Underground Train Station.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

 

This is a permanent, full-time position, Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate must based from our head office in Perth.

 

The Manager, Workplace & Travel is responsible for overseeing our South32 corporate offices, lease management, and company-wide travel program. You'll lead our facilities and travel team, building a safe and inclusive workplace while strengthening relationships that help us work smarter and improve our operations.

 

Reporting to Group Manager Energy, Carbon & Workplace, other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

  • Ensure we meet all safety and compliance requirements across our offices and travel programs while staying true to South32's values in everything we do.
  • Develop strategies for our office portfolio and travel management, create business cases for new opportunities, and stay on top of budgets while looking for ways to improve.
  • Manage our office leases, facility providers, and property consultants, while monitoring market trends and how our spaces are utilised to ensure we're getting good value.
  • Oversee capital projects, manage facility assets, track performance metrics, and work with our network of property professionals to keep our offices running smoothly.

 

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

 

  • Workplace safety and regulatory expertise, combined with experience in safety management and compliance with regulatory requirements, ensure our teams stay protected across all locations.
  • Property and travel management background, knowledge of office leasing, facility management, and corporate travel support, and smart decision-making for the business.
  • Stakeholder engagement and change management skills, with a proven ability to work with diverse groups and guide teams through transitions, keeping projects moving smoothly.
  • Strong analytical and technical capabilities, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, and data analysis tools, enable effective problem-solving and informed decision-making.
  • Commercial acumen and negotiation experience, combined with business insight to secure favourable lease terms, travel arrangements, and contracts that deliver value.
  • Comprehensive leadership and industry experience, including property industry expertise, multi-regional team leadership, and corporate travel management, to guide successful outcomes.

 

Qualifications for this position are: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, engineering or project management related disciplines or a minimum of 10 years relevant experience.
  • A master’s degree is highly regarded
