The location of this role is the Hermosa Project site near Patagonia, Arizona
The Role
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, coordinating, and scheduling maintenance activities to ensure safe and efficient execution that optimizes plant and mobile equipment performance achieving budgeted availability. The Maintenance Planner roles is critical within the Maintenance organization during the project and commissioning phases. The planer will identify strategies to be collected, organized, resourced, tooled, and materials required to safely and effectively execute a maintenance schedule of work to achieve equipment availability and continuously improve maintenance cost efficiency. The planner must continuously assess planning efficiency to identify improvements to process resources, equipment, and maintenance reliability. This position must optimally prepare maintenance work packages to improve workforce productivity and work quality by eliminating potential delays and obstacles through proper planning and coordination of parts, machine time, and labor. This position will be responsible for using and coordinating the CMMS program (SAP) for the site. The planner will be the liaison and coordination between the production and maintenance organizations. The planner must keep appropriate records and files to permit relevant analysis and reporting of results or work done and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. This position works closely with Maintenance Technicians to improve reliability and ensure employee safety while enhancing labor efforts and minimizing costs.
Accountabilities (Include but are not limited to):
Individual Accountabilities:
- Setup and maintain all predictive and preventative maintenance strategies in SAP to maximize equipment reliability
- Maintain equipment records in SAP by adding or updating equipment installation records, maintaining equipment attributes, type, and functional location, and maintaining equipment drawings and manuals
- Determines the most effective method/tool to conduct preventative and predictive maintenance checks
- Setup PM plan in SAP for each piece of equipment, including frequency, mechanic tasks, parts and tools Monitor and report if PM work is being completed to maintain equipment reliability, and comply with regulations and audits
- Release and schedule PM work orders to maintenance technicians or contractors
- Seek input from maintenance personnel, area managers, and engineers to continually improve and adjust PM plans based on equipment and part performance/failures
- Monitor and analyze SAP part failure data (along with Reliability Engineers and Maintenance Team) to detect trends (good or bad)
- Plan and Schedule Corrective work to maximize maintenance department utilization and effectiveness
- Review maintenance requests, collaborate with requestors, and creates the work order
- Plans the work, including estimated labor by craft (Mech, Elect, Fixed), and special equipment or permits needed
- Identify and reserve parts (or create purchase requisitions) for parts and services
- Interface with operations to validate work priority and equipment availability
- Review Planned Backlog of work that is ready to execute, selecting and scheduling backlog work to maintenance technicians while minimizing scheduled overtime
- Entering modifications, improvements, or additions made to processing, fixed infrastructure, and/or other support area equipment
- Provide SAP data integrity guidance for team members. Provide support and training to insure meaningful and comprehensive information is available
- Verifying that preventative maintenance planned and unplanned work is complete, logged, collected for future evaluation
Qualifications, Skills, and Expertise:
- Requires a minimum of an HS Diploma or GED
- SAP proficiency
- Previous Maintenance Planning Experience in both fixed and mobile
- Knowledge of underground mining and processing plant
- Must demonstrate advanced digital literacy and computer knowledge and skill
