The location of this role is the Hermosa Project site near Patagonia, Arizona.

The Role

Materials Superintendent is responsible for developing and maintaining robust receipt of goods, materials check-in, materials picking and materials issuance systems and processes aligned with the Supply Chain Management Plan and South32 Supply Standard. This position will also be responsible for reviewing materials levels, initiating demand of materials for stock replenishment, and performing daily materials level analysis and will play an integral part in design and build of permanent warehouse facilities.

Accountabilities (Include but are not limited to):

Individual Accountabilities:

• Develop robust business process for receiving and issuance of materials in line with South32 Standards and Policies.
• Create inventory strategy that full requirements of material master data. 
• Monitor completeness, accuracy, and compliance during materials transactions.
• Lead and supervise materials team, resolving problems, conducting training, and setting schedules.
• Track, audit, and ensure adequate supply of materials throughout the organization.
• Prepare detailed reports on materials operations, stock levels and adjustments in line with site KPIs.
• Perform regular QA/QC on relevant materials in inventory.
• Monitor materials level to avoid inefficiencies or excessive surplus.
• Recruit and train new employees as needed.
• Assist in the coordination of deliveries to laydown facilities
• Coordinate offloading and storage of all owner procured materials
• Assesses the need for material-handling equipment and staffing; makes recommendations to ensure efficient and safe loading, unloading, movement and storage of materials.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Ensure the company’s code of business conduct, health, safety, and sustainability values are communicated and adhered to by our vendors and service providers.

Qualifications, Skills, and Expertise:

• Bachelors degree in Business or related field
• Minimum of two (5) years of project, construction, or mining industry warehousing and/or inventory management
• Proven track record of developing and maintaining a safe work culture
• Ability to work under pressure, maintain composure, set priorities, and work with a project team
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, SAP or other ERP systems
• Maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct
• Strong English language written and oral communication skills
• Effective communication with other departments and leadership
• Extensive experience within major projects or high volume warehousing
