The location of this role will be the Hermosa Project near Patagonia, Arizona

 

The Role

 

The Project Area Manager – Onsite Infrastructure is essential to the overall success of the organization by ensuring that critical support infrastructure projects are delivered in a manner that supports the overall project. The role consists of ownership and oversight of the entire project, from defining the requirements through coordinating engineering, construction, commissioning and transition to operations.

 

Accountabilities:

 

Include but are not limited to:

  • Fully accountable for delivering projects as required
  • Serves as the scope leader and consensus builder
  • Gathers requirements and inputs from various departments (Operations, Engineering, Permitting, Construction) and obtains consensus on the path forward
  • Reports on the status of all projects on a regular basis
  • Coordinates with Project Controls and Construction Management teams to ensure projects are on schedule and on budget
  • Answers questions and resolves issues brought forth by engineering consultants and Hermosa project team members
  • Works closely with Engineering Manager to coordinate the activities of the project engineering consultants to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of their respective deliverables
  • Communicates and collaborates with other managers, suppliers, equipment vendors, and contractors
  • Prepares and delivers various engineering-related presentations to internal and external stakeholders
  • Projects may include but not be limited to:
    • Earthworks
    • Sedimentation Ponds
    • Portal Pad, Administration Office & Change-house
    • Warehouse
    • Equipment Workshops
    • Wash Bay & Tire Bay
    • Final grading of Portal Pad
    • Other projects as assigned

 

Qualifications, Skills, and Expertise:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Ability to drive company vehicle and be covered under company insurance
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team
  • Relationship building skills: demonstrated empathy, emotional intelligence and cross-cultural effectiveness with the ability to achieve consensus and build alignment cooperatively
  • Ability to obtain consensus among parties with conflicting incentives
  • Maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct
  • Analytical, and capable of evaluating and solving various complex problems
  • Organizational competencies and project management skills to keep projects on track
  • Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment
  • Interpersonal communication skills with expertise in distilling complicated topics to a broader audience
  • Strong English language written and oral communication skills
  • 10 years of construction coordination experience, ideally in a management role and for major infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrated ability of above requirements
