ABOUT MOZAL:

Mozal SA is a benchmark for mega-projects in developing countries; located in Maputo Province, Mozal produces high-quality, primary aluminium for the domestic and export markets.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role is a permanent full-time position and reports to the Superintendent Process Control & Improvement.

•Provide troubleshooting and analysis expertise on the production process to the Production Execution Teams, highlighting deviations and recommending corrective actions;

•Spend an appropriate amount of time on the shop floor investigating process deviations and initiating corrective actions and evaluating adherence to work quality practices.

•Monitor the process/production parameters using statistical process methods and standard operating procedures.

•Monitor and optimize processes and equipment to achieve set production targets within the appropriate risk, safety and quality standards.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Ensure the relevant standard operating procedures are developed, reviewed and maintained to support the safe execution of work;

• Build cross-functional relationships with other departments/functions to support the delivery of production;

• Produce long and short-term reports on production and process outputs for the appropriate forums;

• Continuously review, innovate and benchmark developments in Treatment & Logistics technology and associated activities, materials and equipment with a view to optimization of Mozal operational practices, cost, safety, speed and volumes;

• Assist with training and development of operational employees according to the appropriate standards.

ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

Qualifications for this role are:

•Good understanding of process and reliability systems will be an advantage;

•Demonstrate proficiency in written and spoken English.
