Our Johannesburg office based in Melrose Arch serves as the company`s Functional Hub for the Southern African Operations which include Global Services, Technology and Enterprise Resource Planning Support Teams.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

 

This role is a permanent full-time position.

As a Principal Payroll Processing, you will be responsible to lead the delivery of end-to-end process reviews, improvement  identification and embedment for GBS Payroll Processing Services as well as overseeing risk management and control assessments related to the GBS Payroll Processing risk. Manage execution of project initiatives. You will maintain a close working relationship between GBS Functional Teams, external service providers and South32 functions which includes but is not limited to, HR, Finance, Digital Technology teams and Separation and Integration. Execute mandated activities in accordance with Standards, Policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and regional legislation, to all South32 customers.

 

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Ensure alignment with and compliance to internal controls including South32 Values, Standards, policies, agreements, systems, and procedures;
• Monitor controls in place to ensure compliance to statutory obligations.
• Monitor adherence to the SPOT (Service and Performance Optimisation Tool) methodology through support and regular compliance checks;
• Drive initiatives to improve overall performance of the function by optimising the utilisation of existing processes, practices, and system;
• Manage the creation and maintenance of operating procedure documentation, oversee, and validate system changes and user acceptance testing where required;
• Develop and ensure Functional Integration of GBS to enable the end-to-end process of data integration, while identifying risks and the mitigation thereof;
• Maintains checks to verify adherence to local operating procedures and audit obligations;
• Provide problem-solving guidance on escalated processes;
• Deliver targeted project initiatives;
• Assist during the GBS’s participation in the internal and external audit processes and ensure any audit findings are actioned and closed off.

 

ABOUT YOU:

 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Minimum 5 years relevant professional experience, in Finance and HR related scope with focus on reconciliations;
• Working knowledge of process improvement and methodology essential;
• Data analytics and reporting advantageous;
• Specialized knowledge in payroll processes and reconciliations advantageous;
• Risk and control management essential;
• SAP payroll and Finance modules essential;
• Finance experience essential.

 

Qualifications for this role are:

• Degree in Finance/Human Resources or related disciplines.
