Lead Supply Processing - South32, Johannesburg

POSITION SYNOPSIS:

 

  • To lead, develop and manage the performance of the South32 Global Business Services (GBS) Supply Processing team to ensure timely and accurate execution of mandated activities; with effective delivery of all relevant functional services, in accordance with the Standards, Policies, Standard Operating Procedures and regional legislation, to all South32 customers.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Serious contenders will have a Degree/BTECH/National Diploma (3yrs) in Supply Chain, Finance, Commerce or Business Administration, with a minimum of 5 years’ relevant professional experience in Supply Processing of which at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity;
  • Comprehensive understanding of SAP Purchasing / Supply Modules is essential;
  • Advanced MS Excel skills with strong numerical and analytical skills, along with the capacity to trouble-shoot and formulate solutions are essential;
  • Working knowledge of process improvement processes and methodology is advantageous;
  • Experience in providing strategic direction for a function is essential;
  • Experience in leading high volume transactional shared services activities, preferably SAP based is essential;
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to explain complex issues are essential;
  • Proficiency at report writing, document preparation and presentation are essential.

 

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Effectively manage the teams responsible for invoice processing, Service Entry Sheet Capturing, and Service Request processing;
  • Ensure alignment to and compliance with internal controls including South32 Values, Standards, policies, agreements, systems and procedures;
  • Manage costs and budget and ensure performance targets are met and take shared accountability for delivering against them;
  • Monitor changes to internal and external legal, regulatory and reporting requirements impacting the team in allocated area of accountability;
  • Drive initiatives to improve the overall performance of the function by optimising the utilisation of existing processes, practices and system.;
  • Lead, motivate, coach and develop team members to deliver and maintain operational discipline; ensure delivery of service is compliant, timely and customer-focused (meeting SLAs;.
  • Build and maintain strong business relationships with all key stakeholders.
  • Develop and ensure Functional Integration of the department to enable the end to end process of data integration, while identifying risks and the mitigation thereof;
  • Understand, monitor and control risks associated with functional area including BCP Testing coordination and integration;
  • Creation and maintenance of local operating procedure documentation;
  • Lead system changes and user acceptance testing for Supply where necessary.
  • Provide assistance with internal and external audits or governance requirements.
