Coordinator Fixed Assets

POSITION SYNOPSIS:

Provides support, coordination and administration; and executes transactional accounting services for the areas of: Accounts Receivable and Intercompany Accounting; Fixed Assets and Projects Accounting; Payroll Accounting; . This includes` relevant period end tasks as defined within the Global Business Services’ Partnership Agreement with its Customers.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • National Advanced Certificate / Equivalent (2yrs) in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
  • Minimum 3 years relevant Finance experience
  • Experience within the Finance function of a large Global organisation would be beneficial
  • Experience in SAP would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of compliance and governance requirements.
  • Knowledge of internal control environment and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of accounting standards, legislative requirements and regulations;
  • Working knowledge of SAP FI module.
  • Working knowledge of Accounts Receivable-, Fixed Assets-, Payroll accounting

 

 CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Prepare general ledger accounting reconciliations within the prescribed timeframe to minimise exceptions.
  • Identify and investigate reconciliation exceptions on relevant general ledger accounts.
  • Executes transactional process steps in the areas of Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets and Payroll Accounting.
  • Provide quality information to key stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Adherence to regulatory and legislative reporting requirements; International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in particular
  • Active participation in ad-hoc Finance Projects within GBS or the greater South32.
  • Ensure alignment with and compliance to internal controls including South32 Code of Business Conduct, Group Level Frameworks, Standards, Policies, agreements, systems, and procedures.
  • Contribute to maintain a culture of innovation, learning and development and continuous improvement.
