ABOUT HMM:
The South Africa Manganese operation can be found in the manganese rich Kalahari Basin, in the country’s Northern Cape, which is home to 80 per cent of the world's manganese. This position is based at HMM (Hotazel) and will serve Mamatwan and Wessels Mines.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
This role is a permanent full-time position.
As a Superintendent Security , you will be responsible for the execution of security operations, aligned with the security strategy at the Hotazel Manganese Mines (HMM). The purpose of the role is to maintain effective Security Operations across HMM, including a Control Center, which functions as a Security Hub. The role also deputises for the Security Manager as the focal point for security events, operational planning, and execution. The position is accountable for the continuous monitoring and protection of company assets, the evaluation of security breaches, recommendations, and implementation of corrective actions. The conduct of security audits and Security Threat and Vulnerability Assessments.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
•Maintain and continuously improve the Security Function across HMM;
•Improve security performance by implementing corrective actions, new initiatives, and suggestions from stakeholders;
•Direct and manage site Security Coordinators and guard force on site (aligned with Procedural requirements, requests and change management;
•Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of- and ensure adherence and execution of the Security Management Plan, Procedures and Instructions on site;
•Review Security Procedures, Documents and forms as required and on time;
•Ensure that all security activities are executed in compliance with the Voluntary Principles of Security and Human Rights (VPSHR);
•Report all Security (and Safety) events as required by South32 policies;
•Lead security incident root cause analysis (ICAMs);
•Investigate (when required) security events and close out actions on time;
•Identify gaps in security operations and make recommendations and corrections (in time and/or immediate as dictated by security risk);
•Analyse failures and implement relevant actions and learnings from external Security ICAMS and other Industry learnings;
•Write site specific security reports;
•Submit security reports as required and on time – weekly and monthly.
ABOUT YOU:
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
•Must have 5+ years substantiated experience in the security field as well as the application of security strategy in a corporate environment;
•An in-depth knowledge of the application of technology, Investigations, and Intelligence in the field of security operations is essential;
•Proven experience in management and leadership roles is essential;
•Experience in security related project management activities as well as a broad practical exposure to various security related disciplines on a national and/or international level will be advantageous.
Qualifications for this role are:
• Grade 12;
• Bachelor Degree/BTECH /National Diploma related to security.
