ABOUT HMM

Hotazel Manganese Mines (HMM) is made up of two Manganese mines Mamatwan and Wessels. Both operations are located in the Kalahari Basin, home to 80 per cent of the world’s manganese reserves.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a permanent full-time position.  As a Specialist Training: Talent Development & Planning, you will be responsible for all talent development programs at HMM as well as the medium- and long-term planning & improvement processes for the HMM Training function. Hereby ensuring that HMM training function can effectively deliver on its mandate and compliance to all South32 & Regulatory requirements.

Other key responsibilities include:

•Responsible for the coordination and management of Talent development programmes (Learnerships, Graduates in training, Bursaries, etc)
•Plan and schedule training as per Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and SLP and assist with uploading the training plan on the LMS.
•Manage all budgets relevant to Talent development
•Manage all relevant recruitment processes
•Manage and Maintenance of Learning Records, conduct general Training Administration and manage Training Matrices
•Responsible for the development and execution of the Training needs analysis
•Assist with the development of Business and 90-day plans
•Assist with improvement initiatives for the training department.
•Ensure all talent programmes beneficiaries are allocated with a mentor and mentor agreements are in place.
•Ensure that all training interventions are conducted as per Skills Development Act and meets BBBEE, SLP, Mining Charter requirements as well as ISO 9001: 2015.
•Assist HMM Line Management with the compilation of Individual Development Plans (IDP’s)
•Manage and track IDPs to ensure it is linked to development areas as indicated in KPI’s.

 

ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

•Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in mining of which at least 2 years in a Training Supervisory Capacity or Human Resource Management (specializing in Talent management);
•Knowledge of the Skills Development Act, BBBEE, SLP, Mining Charter and EE Act & MHSA, ISO 9001:2015;
•Knowledge of learner management system;
•Knowledge of Talent management process
•Knowledge of coaching and mentoring programs
•Extensive knowledge, experience and practice  in Planning and scheduling

Qualifications for this role are:

•Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Development / Industrial psychology;
•MQA registered Assessor
•Moderator (advantageous);
