ABOUT MAMATWAN

The South Africa Manganese operation can be found in the manganese rich Kalahari Basin, in the country’s Northern Cape, which is home to 80 per cent of the world's manganese. This position is based at our open-cut Mamatwan mine which started operating more than half a century ago.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role is a permanent full-time position. As a specialist engineering electrical, you will be responsible for providing specialist advice and executes tasks associated with ensuring a robust change control and document management process exists and is followed in the Operation, to enable the accurate maintenance of the Operation’s blueprint, reflecting any approved modifications of its plant, equipment and infrastructure.

 

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

Develop technical documentation (incl. engineering standards, specifications, procedures, control system programs and drawings) from which the Operation is designed, constructed, operated, and maintained;
Governs and controls all technical documentation (incl. engineering standards, specifications, procedures, control system programs and drawings) from which the Operation is designed, constructed, operated, and maintained;
To provide a simple, integrated, effective system for change management;
To ensure that all changes or modifications to systems, plant, processes, projects, materials, products,
Provides specialist advice and executes tasks associated with ensuring a robust change control and document management process exists and is followed in the Operation;
To enable the accurate maintenance of the Operation’s blueprint, reflecting any approved modifications of its plant, equipment and infrastructure;
Analyses performance metrics and benchmarks performance across the function.

 

ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an Open Cast Mining and Plant environment;
In depth knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act and Electrical Drawing;
Basic knowledge with level requirements, statutory legislation, and relevant internal and external standard

Qualifications for this role are:

NDip/BTech/Degree in Electrical Engineering.
