ABOUT MAMATWAN:

 

The South Africa Manganese operation can be found in the manganese rich Kalahari Basin, in the country’s Northern Cape, which is home to 80 per cent of the world's manganese. This position is based at our open-cut Mamatwan mine which started operating more than half a century ago.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

 

This role is a permanent full-time position.

As an Operator Multiskilled, you will be responsible to support primary production by performing day shift duties to prepare drill blocks, road construction, ramp construction and installation of haul road signages.

 

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

•Participate in investigations into workplace incidents;
•Report any unsafe behaviour, conditions and incidents to the responsible person;
•Conduct pre-use inspections, routine inspections and report defects;
•Conduct risk assessment before all tasks and identify risks and hazards;
•Operate mobile equipment based on operational requirements;
•Keep mobile equipment clean and in a good condition all the time;
•Operate various mobile equipment based on operational requirements.

 

ABOUT YOU:

 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Must have a minimum of 1 years’ experience in operating mobile equipment in a mining or plant environment.

 

Qualifications for this role are:

• Grade 12(external candidates) / Grade 10 (Internal candidates);
• Mobile Equipment licenses on either Excavator, CAT Loader 992/980, CAT Dozer D8/D10, CAT 777 and Grader is essential;
• A minimum of 3 licenses is essential.
• Mobile Equipment licenses on Wheel Dozer, Water Bowser and Rock Breaker will be advantageous;
• Valid Code B  Drivers License is essential.
