ABOUT MAMATWAN

The South Africa Manganese operation can be found in the manganese rich Kalahari Basin, in the country’s Northern Cape, which is home to 80 per cent of the world's manganese. This position is based at our open-cut Mamatwan mine which started operating more than half a century ago.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role is a permanent full-time position.

As an Operator Loadout Station, you will be responsible for assisting in train loading operations and relieving the main positions such as Shunters, Locomotive operators and Process Controller at the Mamatwan Load-out Station..

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Conduct pre-inspection prior to train loading.
• Correcting unsafe wagons.
• May be required to operate different machines based on operational requirements.
• Participate in investigations.
• Report unsafe behavior.

ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in shunting;
• Reclaimer license and Train loading experience is advantageous.

Qualifications for this role are:

• Grade 10 for internal candidates and Grade 12 with mathematics for external candidates;
• Shunter or Loco Certificate;
• Valid driver’s license.
