ABOUT HMM:
The South Africa Manganese operation can be found in the manganese rich Kalahari Basin, in the country’s Northern Cape, which is home to 80 per cent of the world's manganese. This position is based at HMM (Hotazel) and will serve Mamatwan and Wessels Mines.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
This role is a permanent full-time position.
As a Manager Human Resources, you will be responsible to lead and execute the HR strategy and agenda for Hotazel Manganese Mines (HMM) and ensure high quality HR coaching and support is provided across the full employment lifecycle to enable delivery of operational objectives. Reporting to the VP Operations MnSA.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
•Lead a team of HR professionals to execute the HR Strategy and effectively implement relevant processes, procedures and frameworks;
•Understand key drivers of business performance at the operations and develop HR strategies that enable business objectives and performance;
•Create effective relationships with customers, both internal and external to meet customer needs through reliable, effective, fit-for-purpose service;
•Understand key drivers of business performance at HMM and develop HR strategies that deliver positive business outcomes;
•Develop and implement HR improvement plans for the operation;
•Ensure HR programs are in line with the global model and embed in day to day business processes;
•Influence and provide strategic support to the Operational Leadership Team across the full employee lifecycle, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, remuneration, performance and development, talent and succession planning and employee separations;
•Set the long-term employee relations (ER) strategy for HMM focusing on direct engagement with employees and ensuring industrial agreements are structured to support operations;
•Manage litigation matters for the HMM operation, including coordination of relevant external bodies;
•Lead the development of strategies to drive the desired culture at the operations, with a focus on building a diverse, inclusive, high performing and engaged workforce.
ABOUT YOU:
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
•5 to 7 year experience as a HR Professional (essential);
•Demonstrated Leadership experience and capabilities with teams of similar size (essential);
•Demonstrates sound knowledge and experience in engaging and influencing others to work according to the established operational standards as well as creating a collaborative environment with the key stakeholders;
•Significant experience in employee / industrial relations with a sound knowledge of industrial and ER theory, principles, policies and practices within a heavy industry context;
•Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, with an ability to effectively and creatively challenge people, situations and current thinking;
•Demonstrated knowledge and experience to assess, evaluate and establish mitigations to operational issues and risks; including the Business Contingency and Disaster Recovery plans.
•Experience managing end-to-end enterprise agreement negotiation processes;
•Experienced and credible in advising others on people management processes.
Qualifications for this role are:
•Tertiary qualifications in a relevant degree (preferably HR / IR, Organisational Behaviour or Change Management)
