Located on the tropical Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, GEMCO is an open-cut mine that is accountable for over 20% of the world’s manganese ore production. Groote Eylandt is home to the Anindilyakwa people, who are the traditional owners of the land and have been working alongside GEMCO since 1963

ABOUT THE ROLE 

This role is a permanent position on a 7:7 day/night roster, FIFO from Darwin or Cairns.

As the Warehouse Officer, you will safely and accurately execute warehouse-related tasks including loading and unloading trucks, receipting purchase orders, managing inventory, returns management of repairable stocks, vendor non-compliances, and regular stock counting.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of all events and hazards.
• Maintain inventory and facility security to prevent financial loss or business impact.
• Actively participate in training, meetings and team discussions.
• Build positive relationships through clear communication and feedback.

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

• Understanding of warehouse administration and inventory management principles.
• High level of integrity in maintaining the security of inventory.
• Experience working in a similar role ideally within Mining or Heavy Industry.
• Ability to multi-task, problem solve and manage competing priorities safely.
• SAP experience (highly desirable)

Qualifications for this position are: 

• Hold relevant licences required for warehouse operations including LF, LO, DG, HR and Working at Heights.
• Manual drivers licence
