ABOUT GEMCO

Located on the tropical Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, GEMCO is an open-cut mine that is accountable for over 15% of the world’s manganese ore production. Groote Eylandt is home to the Anindilyakwa people, who are the traditional owners of the land and have been working alongside GEMCO since 1963.

The onsite accommodation includes meal services and access to excellent facilities, including a gym, beachside workout area, swimming pool, golf course, tennis and squash courts, a sports oval and a range of scenic walking tracks.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

This role is a Permanent full-time position on a 4:3 roster, Monday to Thursday, FIFO from Darwin or Cairns. Residential option to live on Groote Eylandt considered.  

As the Superintendent Warehouse & Logistics, you will be responsible for leading and optimising warehouse and logistics operations to ensure safe, cost‑effective and reliable supply of materials aligned to operational plans.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

• Develop and execute warehouse and logistics strategy across site operations
• Manage third‑party logistics and barge contractors against safety, cost and service expectations
• Identify and mitigate supply, inventory and logistics risks through proactive controls
• Lead culture, performance and capability across warehouse teams and contractor partners

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

• Senior leadership within warehouse, logistics or supply functions in complex environments
• Influencing internal leaders and external partners to deliver aligned outcomes
• Managing operational risk, safety governance and contractor performance
• Applying commercial acumen to optimise spend, contracts and service models

Qualifications for this position are: 

• Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Operations or related discipline
• OR extensive relevant experience within Supply & Logistics
• Current C Class Drivers Licence
