ABOUT GEMCO

Located on the tropical Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, GEMCO is an open-cut mine that is accountable for over 15% of the world’s manganese ore production. Groote Eylandt is home to the Anindilyakwa people, who are the traditional owners of the land and have been working alongside GEMCO since 1963.

The onsite accommodation includes meal services and access to excellent facilities, including a gym, beachside workout area, swimming pool, golf course, tennis and squash courts, a sports oval and a range of scenic walking tracks.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

This role is a Permanent full-time position on an 8:6 roster, FIFO from Darwin or Cairns.

As the Structural Remediation Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading the safe and successful delivery of structural remediation projects, ensuring contractor performance, project compliance, quality outcomes and alignment with governance, safety and operational requirements

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

• Conduct daily pre-starts, toolbox talks and field safety interactions
• Ensure remediation works meet approved standards, plans and specifications
• Support procurement activities and coordinate materials and equipment needs
• Facilitate contractor onboarding and maintain effective stakeholder interfaces

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

• Supervising remediation, construction or maintenance activities in brownfield environments
• Building strong stakeholder relationships across diverse teams and workgroups
• Balancing competing priorities while delivering against project milestones
• Demonstrating visible safety leadership and promoting a positive safety culture

Qualifications for this position are: 

• Trade qualification in relevant field
• Current C Class Drivers Licence
