ABOUT GEMCO
Located on the tropical Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, GEMCO is an open-cut mine that is accountable for over 15% of the world's manganese ore production. Groote Eylandt is home to the Anindilyakwa people, who are the traditional owners of the land and have been working alongside GEMCO since 1963.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is a Permanent position on a 7:7 Day shift roster, FIFO from Darwin or Cairns.
You will be responsible for coordinating port operations and logistics activities to ensure safe, efficient execution of plans, compliance with standards and delivery of performance targets.
Key deliverables for the role are, but aren’t limited to:
- Monitoring and controlling port resources to meet monthly plans and minimise variation.
- Supporting shipping movements, vessel berthing and safe loading/discharge activities.
- Driving continuous improvement through KPI management and business improvement initiatives.
- Liaising with internal teams and external service providers to align logistics and maintenance.
- Ensuring compliance with safety systems, risk assessments and critical control verification.
- Preparing documentation for shipping and agency requirements in line with standards.
- Management of equipment maintenance, load, haul and port interface.
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Leading or coordinating logistics or port operations in a high-volume industrial environment.
- Communicating effectively with diverse stakeholders and building collaborative relationships.
- Managing competing priorities, problem-solving and making sound decisions under pressure.
- Driving continuous improvement and fostering a culture of safety and team development.
Qualifications for this position are:
- Tertiary qualifications in Marine Port Management, Process Engineering or Logistics is highly desirable
- Knowledge of Frontline Management principles and frameworks
- Demonstrated understanding of business processes across a medium to large organization
- Experience form marine operations and knowledge of national and international marine legislation
