Located on the tropical Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, GEMCO is an open-cut mine that is accountable for over 20% of the world’s manganese ore production. Groote Eylandt is home to the Anindilyakwa people, who are the traditional owners of the land and have been working alongside GEMCO since 1963

ABOUT THE ROLE 

This role is a Permanent full-time position on a 4:3 roster, FIFO from Darwin or Cairns to Groote Eylandt.  

As the Maintenance Planner, you will be responsible for ensuring all Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) maintenance activities are planned and scheduled within the company’s guidelines of safety, timeliness, quality and within defined work deliverables.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

• Plan maintenance to minimise production impact and uphold HSEC standards
• Confirm scope and priority, build task lists, define work requirements, develop work packs
• Maintain cost estimates for a rolling 12-week forecast of scheduled maintenance
• Review tasks in the field to ensure alignment with plans and identify required changes

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) maintenance within mining or heavy industry
• Planning, scheduling, and managing HME maintenance strategies
• Building strong working relationships and communicating with influence
• Staying decisive under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
• Proficient on Excel and SAP experience beneficial

Qualifications for this position are: 

• Relevant Trade Certificate or equivalent mobile maintenance planning experience
• Valid C Class Driver’s Licence.
