Located on the tropical Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, GEMCO is an open-cut mine that is accountable for over 20% of the world’s manganese ore production. Groote Eylandt is home to the Anindilyakwa people, who are the traditional owners of the land and have been working alongside GEMCO since 1963

ABOUT THE ROLE 

This role is a Permanent full-time position on a 7:7 roster, FIFO from Darwin, or Cairns to Groote Eylandt.  

As the Maintenance Planner, you will be responsible for ensuring maintenance activities are accurately planned and scheduled to optimise equipment availability, safety, and operational continuity.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

• Facilitate prioritisation and planning meetings with key stakeholders
• Issue accurate schedules & forecasts in alignment with business needs
• Review & improve master data and work management processes
• Coordinate materials & approvals to enable timely job execution
• Review tasks in the field to ensure alignment with plans and identify required changes

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Planning and scheduling maintenance within mining or heavy industry
• Communicating clearly with a range of technical and operational stakeholders
• Managing priorities in a deadline-driven, dynamic environment
• Applying structured work planning and defect elimination processes
• Confident on Microsoft Office and SAP (1SAP) to support maintenance planning

Qualifications for this position are: 

• Trade or Tertiary Qualification in Electrical, Instrumentation or related field
• Valid C Class Drivers Licence
