ABOUT THE ROLE 

This role is a Permanent position on a 7:7 day/night roster, FIFO from Darwin or Cairns to Groote Eylandt.

As the Technician Maintenance – HV Fitter, you will be responsible for safely maintaining mobile diesel surface mining equipment as per work management processes, maintenance schedules and work instructions.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines
• Identify recurring faults and provide feedback and recommendations to rectify
• Diagnose and repair faults across diesel engines, and hydraulic, electrical/electronic and pneumatic systems
• Maintain and repair HME systems, such as exhaust, cooling, suspension, steering, braking, fuel, turbo charger, transmission, drive train, air-conditioning, electrical/electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic systems

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

• Experience in Mobile Maintenance of Caterpillar, Cummins, Sandvik, Komatsu and/or Hitachi
• Proven understanding of mobile mining equipment fault-finding and diagnostics
• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems on mobile mining equipment
• Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices

Qualifications for this position are: 

• Trade qualified Diesel Mechanic
• High Risk Dogging and Forklift desirable
• WAH and confined space desirable
• Current C Class Drivers License
