Located on the tropical Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, GEMCO is an open-cut mine that is accountable for over 20% of the world’s manganese ore production. ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is a Permanent position on a 7:7 rotating day and nightshift roster, FIFO from Darwin or Cairns.
As the Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for executing maintenance on HV & LV systems across fixed plant, mobile generation, and non-process infrastructure, ensuring safety & technical compliance.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Perform maintenance, installation & commissioning of:
- HV and LV supply, transmission and distribution networks
- Fixed plant, mobile generation and non-process infrastructure
- Domestic and commercial installations
- Analyse and solve electrical faults & conduct repairs
- Support business improvement initiatives
- Assist with apprentice training & development
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Prior experience in Electrical maintenance, ideally in the mining industry
- Siemens PLC systems
- HV switching operations
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Qualifications for this position are:
- Trade Certificate – Electrical (Electrical Fitter Mechanic)
- NT ‘A’ Grade Electrical Workers Licence
- C Class Drivers License
- Trade Certificate – Instrumentation (desirable)
- HV switching competencies (desirable)
- EWP and Working at Heights (desirable)
