ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is a Permanent position on 36 hours per week 12 hour rotating roster. Our Worsley Refinery is a short drive from communities such as Collie (20 Minutes) & Bunbury (45 Minutes) which all offer an enviable country lifestyle. Surrounded by magnificent jarrah forests, pristine beaches and world-famous wineries, you will live and work in one of the most beautiful regions of Western Australia and still be home each night.
Please note that accommodation is not provided on site, you will be required to drive in, drive out to site on a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hour’s drive of Collie.
As the Technician Laboratory, you will be responsible for safely conducting laboratory testing and analysis to support refinery operations, providing accurate and timely data that enables effective process monitoring, control and continuous improvement.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Perform routine and non-routine sample analysis to support operational and technical decision-making across the refinery and port.
- Complete quality control activities and contribute to the identification and resolution of laboratory and process-related issues.
- Participate in laboratory maintenance activities to ensure equipment, systems and work areas remain reliable and fit for purpose.
- Support improvement initiatives that enhance laboratory performance, efficiency and cost management outcomes.
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Working in a laboratory for a technical, manufacturing, processing or industrial environment.
- Following procedures and maintaining high levels of accuracy when collecting, analysing and recording data.
- Applying sound problem-solving skills to identify issues and contribute to practical solutions.
- Managing competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
- Working collaboratively within a team and building positive relationships across operational and technical functions.
- Communicating effectively and demonstrating a strong commitment to safety, continuous improvement and shared goals
Qualifications for this position are:
- TAFE Certificate 3 Laboratory Skills, or equivalent
