ABOUT THE ROLE 

This role is a permanent position based on a 40-hour week supporting maintenance planning teams at both our Worsley Alumina Refinery, (15-minute drive from Collie or 45 minutes from Bunbury) and our Boddington Bauxite Mine (10-minute drive from Boddington or 60 minutes from Mandurah). This will be discussed during interview stages depending on where you are located.

 

Reporting to the Superintendent of Maintenance Planning & Control  the Senior Planner role is to facilitate the governance and reporting of work management and metrics within their area, assist in the development and mentoring of work management planners and perform work management planner activities. Depending on departmental structure leading a team of work management planners.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure compliance to work management processes to enable safe work practices to minimize the risk associated with the working environment to employees and contractors, and to comply with statutory obligations.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to drive preparedness for all major outage in your area.
  • Facilitate the design of maintenance work that is both safe and environmentally sound to a level of detail that enables efficient and repeatable execution
  • Monitor and report on maintenance cost, budget and forecast timetables for adherence and accuracy
  • Communicate, lead, support and commit to change for work management process.
  • Change agent for new South32 and internal initiatives relating to work management and improvement

 

 

ABOUT YOU 

  • Trade qualification or formal process operator qualification
  • Demonstrated written and oral English language proficiency.
  • Strong leadership skills with a highly developed inclusive leadership style to achieve goals.
  • A pro-active approach to resolving issues and excellent attention to detail
  • Previous experience in a Maintenance Planning or Scheduling role
  • Knowledge of safe working practices, hazard identification and risk assessment

Desirable

  • Graduate Certificate or Diploma relevant to Work Management
  • A fixed plant, crushing and conveying maintenance background
