ABOUT THE ROLE 

This role is a Permanent position on a 9-day fortnight roster, at our Worsley Alumina Refinery, which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (45 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities. 

Working in our team as a High Voltage Electrical Specialist, you will be responsible for:

• Ensure high voltage equipment reliability by developing and continuously improving HV equipment condition, knowledge, and maintenance practices.
• Updating maintenance strategies, performing defect elimination, analysis and improvement of work management processes.
• Keeping track of HV equipment asset health and recommend corrective action when necessary.
• Performing High Level HV switching (11kV – 132kV)
• Provide the key link between the Maintenance Analysis & Improvement teams and HV maintenance execution teams.
• Ensure the effectiveness of work strategies and work plans, statutory and legislative requirements.

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

• Several years’ experience maintenance of high voltage electrical equipment in refinery/mining or other similar heavy industry.
• A wealth of working experience in maintenance and troubleshooting work activities related to Power transformers, transmission lines, HV switchgear, outdoor substations, Generators etc.
• Understanding of Work Management Cycle and Defect Elimination process.
• Detailed knowledge of procedures and concepts in development of maintenance plans and associated strategies for HV electrical equipment
• Experience in testing and calibration of protection relays. (Desirable)
• Proficiency in work management software such as SAP and Microsoft Office (Highly regarded)

Qualifications for this position are: 

• Western Australian A Grade electrical licence or a degree in electrical engineering
• High Voltage switching qualification and experience.
