ABOUT THE ROLE 

 

This role is a Permanent position working a 9-day fortnight roster DIDO from our Worsley Alumina Refinery, which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (45 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities. 

 

As the Pressure Vessel Inspector (Statutory Engineer), you will be responsible for ensuring all pressure vessel fabrication, modifications and/or repairs comply with Australian Standards and regulatory requirements, and specify the inspection requirement, scope, and frequency.

 

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

 

  • Provide specialist technical advice to the business on classified equipment related issues and be an actively involved subject matter expert in investigations.
  • Conduct inspections on classified plant and produce inspection finding reports.
  • Sign off and manage classified equipment records, including pressure relief devices, as per site requirements.
  • Identify, develop and implement improvement opportunities for classified equipment.

 

 

ABOUT YOU

 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

 

  • Prior experience inspecting pressure equipment, in line with AS/NZS 3788-2006
  • Knowledge of relevant Australian and/or ASME pressure vessel codes
  • Experience in Non-Destructive Testing techniques
  • Ability to develop engineering scopes for repairs/alterations of pressure equipment
  • Familiar with Mines Safety Inspection Regulations - desirable

 

Qualifications for this position are: 

 

  • Current AICIP or API 510 certification – required
  • Tertiary or Trade qualification in Mechanical, maintenance, or metallurgy – desirable
  • Current API 653 certification - desirable
