ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a Permanent position on a 9-day fortnight roster. This role will be based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (35 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities.
As there is no accommodation on site, you will be required to drive in, drive out on a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hour’s drive of Collie.
As the Engineer Senior Mechanical, you will be responsible for providing specialised A&I expertise to optimise asset performance and strengthen maintenance effectiveness across the operation.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Deliver strategic projects, initiatives, and trials that enhance safety, reliability, and cost performance.
- Lead, develop, and mentor Maintenance Specialists and Reliability Engineers, with a strong focus on safety, risk management, cost reduction, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure the integrity of master data and the quality of work design documentation through effective leadership of Maintenance Specialists.
- Provide clear technical direction on scope, risk, and cost to support the timely delivery of improvement initiatives.
- Foster a strong improvement culture by actively supporting and enabling Execution team improvement initiatives.
- Support Maintenance Execution budgeting and cost management activities.
- Conduct structured reviews using proven methodologies to optimise maintenance strategies, improve equipment reliability, and reduce maintenance costs.

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Operating effectively in complex, process‑driven industrial or resources environments
- Applying strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to improve equipment performance
- Influencing, mentoring and coaching others to build discipline and shared accountability
- Collaborating across engineering, maintenance and operations to deliver sustainable outcomes
Qualifications for this position are:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Post Graduate qualification in engineering/ management (desirable)
