ABOUT THE ROLE

 

This role is a Permanent position on 42 hours per week, day shift and night shift continuous roster. This role is based at the Port of Bunbury, overlooking the magnificent coastal views of the South-West coast. Located a short drive from Bunbury City Centre you can base yourself in the heart of the city or any of the magnificent surrounding coastal communities. Surrounded by magnificent jarrah forests, pristine beaches and world-famous wineries, you will live and work in one of the most beautiful regions of Western Australia and still be home each night. 

 

As the Operator Senior Refinery Process, you will be responsible for safely operating refinery process assets, supporting production delivery, and providing day-to-day guidance and mentoring to operators and trainees while maintaining high safety and operational standards.

 

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

 

  • Safely execute port production activities, including rail loading, unloading and shipping operations in line with production schedules and operational requirements.
  • Monitor plant and equipment performance, identify potential issues and raise work notifications to support reliable operations and production outcomes.
  • Apply risk management processes, critical controls and safe work practices while participating in clearance to work activities within the operational area.
  • Maintain accurate reporting of production activities, events and hazards while working collaboratively to support continuous improvement and operational excellence.

 

 

ABOUT YOU

 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:  

 

  • Extensive experience within a processing, manufacturing, refinery or production environment.
  • Leading, supporting and positively influencing teams in day-to-day operational activities.
  • Building collaborative relationships across operations, maintenance and technical functions.
  • Coaching, developing and sharing knowledge with colleagues to build team capability.
  • Identifying issues, solving problems and making sound decisions in dynamic operational environments.
  • Working with a strong safety focus while maintaining high standards of communication, accountability and teamwork.

Qualifications for this position are:  

 

  • Certificate III in Process Plant Operating
  • Holds all area specific Clearance to Work requirements
  • Holds all area specific CPK’s and APK’s

 

Desirable (qualifications / licences / certs) :

 

HR Truck, EWP, Forklift and Dogman licences, a Certificate III in Process Plant Manufacturing, Isolation and/or Clearance Officer qualifications, eligibility for appointment as an S44/S26 Officer, and experience working at heights.
