This role is a Permanent position on a 40- hour week DS roster– DIDO to our Boddington Mine, located a short drive from the community of Boddington (10 minutes), Pinjarra (50 minutes) and the City of Mandurah (1 hour).
As the Mine Control Supervisor your role Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of mining activities at South32’s BBM operations. This position is responsible for overseeing the mine control team and coordinating real-time operational execution to optimise production performance, compliance with mine plans, and safety protocols.
Acting as the central communication hub between field operations, planning teams, maintenance, and support services, the Mine Control Supervisor ensures alignment of activities with shift plans and operational priorities. The role involves monitoring mine systems (e.g., fleet management systems, noise monitoring platform, weather management platforms), responding to deviations, and directing corrective actions to minimise delays and maximise productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership:
- Personally, works safely and aligns with the South32 Core values.
- Take accountability for the performance of the team, promoting a culture of inclusion and wellbeing.
- Conduct regular coaching sessions with the direct reports to identify areas for improvement and recognize areas of excellence.
- Manage individual and team performance.
Technical:
- Follow the Mine Operating System (MOS) process.
- Provide feedback to Supervisors and Coordinators on equipment allocation constraints.
- Capture and ensure the integrity of mine production data on a regular occurrence.
- Develop and generate reports as required.
People
- Development of team capability to safely deliver the Mining Departments annual targets
- Ensure Mine Control are in line with the behaviors outlined in the Company Code of Conduct.
- Monitor and verify competency of individual Mine Controllers in the optimization of mine performance
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- 3 Years of experience in using Fleet Management and Asset Health Platforms
- Experience in supervision of Mine Controllers and/or Production Mining crews (desired)
- Experience with continuous improvement projects/initiatives
- Fundamental understanding of production data storage
- Proficiency in software such as Jigsaw, Asset Health, PowerBi, Microsoft Office Suite, SAP
