ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is a permanent position on a 9-day fortnight roster at our Boddington Bauxite Mine, which is located a short drive from the community of Boddington (10 minutes), Pinjarra (50 minutes) and the City of Mandurah (1 hour).
This position is a drive in drive out role with no camp facilities, however buses do run from Mandurah and Armadale.
As the Specialist Safety you will be responsible for providing specialist safety leadership, technical expertise and strategic guidance to support risk reduction, regulatory compliance and continual improvement across the Boddington Bauxite Mine operation.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Partner with operational leaders to strengthen safety performance, embed effective risk management practices, and drive governance of Critical Control Performance Standards to improve control effectiveness and accountability.
- Lead the development, coordination and delivery of safety improvement initiatives, including governance and continuous improvement of the Worsley Fatality Risk Framework to support consistent risk management outcomes.
- Analyse safety performance data, assurance outcomes and trends, while supporting the ongoing maturity of the Continuous Assurance Framework through data-driven verification, assurance activities and operational performance monitoring.
- Provide coaching, technical advice and support to operational teams in relation to safety standards, investigations, critical controls, risk assessments and assurance activities to strengthen capability and performance.
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Building trusted relationships and influencing stakeholders at all organisational levels.
- Providing practical safety advice and technical support within operational or industrial environments.
- Facilitating risk assessments and supporting teams to implement effective control measures.
- Leading change initiatives that improve safety culture, systems and ways of working.
- Interpreting data and communicating insights to support informed decision-making.
- Managing competing priorities while delivering outcomes through collaboration, coaching and clear communication.
Qualifications for this position are:
- Diploma or Degree Work Health & Safety / Similar and related industry experience Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor appointment
