ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a Permanent position on a 9-day fortnight roster. This is a permanent position, with flexibility to be based at either our Worsley Alumina Refinery near Collie or our Boddington Bauxite Mine, depending on candidate preference. Employees ideally live within an hour’s drive of site.
As there is no accommodation on site, you will be required to drive in, drive out on a daily basis.
As the Specialist Projects, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of a range of projects within the Worsley Capital Portfolio which are well designed, planned and cost effective solutions that meet business requirements, through leadership and collaboration with stakeholders and vendors.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure that all projects are developed and delivered from concept to closeout in accordance with South32 Project Management Framework
- Acting as the single point of accountability for allocated works across the full lifecycle
- Provide leadership throughout project life cycle that is aligned to South32 values
- Preparing and submitting milestone deliverables for project tollgates and approvals
- Establishing and maintaining accurate schedules, budgets, forecasts and cashflow
- Proactively engaging stakeholders, suppliers and internal customers to align delivery
- Managing change, risk and reporting in line with the project management framework
- Supporting and mentoring project team members to foster strong collaboration
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Delivering brownfield projects within operating assets or heavy industry environments – mining and resources industry preferred
- Managing multiple priorities while balancing scope, time, cost and risk
- Building effective relationships and influencing outcomes through collaboration
- Applying a disciplined, safety‑focused and quality‑driven approach to project delivery
- A sound understanding with proven experience in developing and managing schedules and budgets
- Experience with MS Office Suite, MS Project and SAP
Qualifications for this position are:
- Project Management
- Engineering or technical trade qualification within Mechanical, Electrical or Process disciplines with exposure to Project delivery
