ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is a Permanent position on a 9-day fortnight roster, at our Boddington Bauxite Mine reporting to the Superintendent Mine Development Planning. Please note that accommodation is not provided on site.
Flexible working from Perth may be supported, with an expectation of ongoing presence on site and in‑person stakeholder meetings.
As the Senior Specialist Land Agreements, you will be responsible for coordinating land agreements, statutory approvals and access obligations that enable mine plans and operations across the Worsley mining area.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Negotiating land access arrangements with private landholders in partnership with planning leadership
- Developing and maintaining land access and buffer management strategies
- Coordinating Mining Act and local government approvals for new mining areas
- Managing ongoing land access, restoration, tenure and agreement obligations with internal partners
- Providing informed guidance on mining, land and commercial legislation
- Supporting budgets, forecasts and cost control for land agreement activities
ABOUT YOU
- Building trusted relationships with landholders, internal teams and external stakeholders
- Interpreting legal and commercial agreements and translating them into practical actions
- Developing business cases, trade‑off analysis and negotiation strategies
- Communicating clearly and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
Qualifications for this position are:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Commerce, Engineering, Geoscience or Science or similar.
- Experience in negotiating land access with third parties.
- Proven capability in developing business cases, undertaking trade off analysis, negotiating, and delivering commercial outcomes.
- Understanding and interpretation of legal documents, especially Land Access Agreements, Mineral Title related agreements and State Agreements
- Strong report writing, presentation and document writing skills
