ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a Permanent position on a 9-day fortnight roster, DIDO to our Boddington Bauxite Mine located a short drive from the community of Boddington (10 minutes), Pinjarra (50 minutes) and the City of Mandurah (1 hour). This role reports into the Superintendent A&I, as the Senior Mechanical Engineer your role is to develop, deploy and continuously improve maintenance work management strategies for the Refinery by providing specialised A&I support and expertise.  Ensure the effectiveness of work strategies and work plans whilst meeting legislative and statutory requirements .

 

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:  

  • Build and develop equipment maintenance strategies for all equipment within the operational area of responsibility. This includes ensuring adequate information is captured in the task list and associated work instructions to perform the intended tasks to the required standard safely.
  • Lead a team of experienced mechanical engineers.
  • Identify all equipment requiring inspections and repairs based on legislative and statutory requirements and create Safety Critical Equipment master data in SAP. Develop and deploy maintenance strategies to meet the requirements of Safety Critical Equipment. Ensure adherence to these statutory plans in SAP.
  • Lead and promote discipline in engineering work, verify quality of completed tasks and enhance technical knowledge of team members and other Engineering employees in regard to the mechanical discipline.

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:  

  • Visible field safety leadership and an ability to drive safety and performance excellence
  • Knowledge of Mobile Equipment Maintenance & Reliability in the Mining context
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering methodologies, tools and software’s.
  • Knowledge and experience implementing Management of Engineering Change.
  • Significant experience in delivering complete life cycle of design works within a brownfield environment within the resources or other heavy industry
  • Sound understanding and proven experience in developing and managing engineering budgets and schedule.

 Qualifications for this position are:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
