ABOUT THE ROLE 

 

This role is a Permanent weekday day shift position based at Port Kembla Coal Terminal in the coastal city of Wollongong, NSW, approximately 75 kilometres southwest of Sydney.

 

As the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the performance of the PKCT mechanical trade workgroup, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective practices.

 

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

 

  • Supervise trades, ensuring safe execution of work plans using our CMMS
  • Manage work interactions, isolations, and permit authorisation for site personnel and contractors
  • Address work interruptions by organising and overseeing repairs according to company procedures
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement by identifying and implementing enhancements

 

 

ABOUT YOU 

 

  • Supervisory experience gained in medium to heavy industry
  • Ability to foster a safety-focused culture through mentoring, coaching, and promoting ongoing development
  • Technically capable to support the team and best utilise their skills
  • Knowledgeable in maintenance of conveying systems, hydraulics, pumps, gearboxes, and hoisting systems
  • Skilled in building and maintaining positive relationships with diverse stakeholders

 

Qualifications for this position are: 

 

  • Mechanical Trade Certificate or Tertiary qualification
  • MSIC or ability to obtain
  • Leadership or training qualifications (desirable)
