This position will be based out of our Perth head office in the heart of the CBD and be offered as a 12 month fixed term contract.



About the role


Reporting to the Manager Health and Safety the purpose of this role is to design and lead the implementation of the H&S functional 2nd line stewardship program through:

  • design, develop and implement the 2nd Line Stewardship framework and tools for Health and Safety Function function;
  • enable the business to adhere to Global Health and Safety standards
  • mitigate business level risk through the identification of emerging risk issues


Other accountabilities include:


  • design, build and implement the Health and Safety 2nd line Stewardship approach in line with South32 2nd line Stewardship approach, methodology and tools;
  • facilitate the identification and mapping of critical global health and safety business processes to enable effective stewardship and verification programs;
  • develop Health & Safety Stewardship program including annual scheduled reviews across all operations and projects;
  • engage Group Assurance Function and ensure integration of assurance activities;
  • build data analysis health checks and dashboards;
  • lead change management and communication approach across all phases of implementation;
  • foster an inclusive workplace with a strong culture of care and accountability;
  • an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.



About you


  • Tertiary qualification in business, technical or management
  • Process improvement experience desired
  • Understanding of health and safety business processes
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cross functional teams to deliver organisation wide improvement projects including associated change management
  • Excellence in stakeholder management at a senior level
  • Excellent analytical skills (qualitative and quantitative)
