ABOUT GEMCO

Located on the tropical Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, GEMCO is an open-cut mine that is accountable for over 15% of the world’s manganese ore production. Groote Eylandt is home to the Anindilyakwa people, who are the traditional owners of the land and have been working alongside GEMCO since 1963.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

This role is a Permanent full-time position on a 4:3 roster (Monday-Thursday), FIFO from Darwin or Cairns to Groote Eylandt. Brisbane-based candidates are also encouraged to apply, with flexible WFH and site visit expectations. 

As the Data Product Owner, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient, scalable and compliant data flow, applications and technology platforms that support operational performance, business value and continuous improvement.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

• Developing and maintaining application and data platform roadmaps aligned to business needs
• Managing integrations, standards and vendor relationships to ensure seamless interoperability
• Overseeing platform activities, incident resolution and service performance across operations
• Identifying opportunities for innovation, cost reduction and enhanced productivity

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

• Strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to translate technical concepts clearly
• Effective collaboration across multidisciplinary and cross‑functional teams
• Analytical thinking with a focus on problem solving and continuous improvement
• Leadership capability with confidence to guide decisions and influence outcome

Qualifications for this position are: 

• Tertiary qualifications in Technology or related discipline
• Demonstrated expertise in application ecosystems, data platforms and integration frameworks
• Proficiency with Microsoft Power BI, SQL Server Reporting Services and Microsoft SQL databases
• Experience with API management, data integration and automation tools
• Current C Class Drivers Licence
