ABOUT THE ROLE

 

This role is a Permanent position on a 9-day fortnight roster, DIDO to our Boddington Bauxite Mine located a short drive from the community of Boddington (10 minutes), Pinjarra (50 minutes) and the City of Mandurah (1 hour).

 

 

As the Mine Surveyor, you will be responsible to providing expertise, coordination, and management of the sites spatial data to the processes of Mine Design, Scheduling, Geology and Tenure & Land Management by supplying accurate and up to date Spatial information. Support for operations as required. Monthly reporting and support in Refinery monthly reconciliation process.

 

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

  • Provide survey services associated with development, mining, and rehabilitation activities to ensure an accurate development of the mine designs and schedules.
  • Maintain survey data integrity to meet West Australian mine regulation standards.
  • Update and maintain Vulcan layers.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Manage contractor and consultants as required.
  • All RPAS flights are required to comply with South32 operation manual.
  • Maintain Physical fitness to accomplish your role accountabilities.

 

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:  

  • Demonstrated Business Acumen.
  • Proven ability to solve problems and deal with ambiguity.
  • Experience in mine surveying and mining operations.
  • preferred using Vulcan, I_site and RPAS processing software, and using GPS post processing software or similar.
  • Interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

 

 

Qualifications for this position are:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience preferred.
  • Tertiary qualification in Mine surveying.
  • CASA certified Remote pilots License.
  • Proven capability to operate in a complex environment, leading and facilitating diverse teams.
