Worsley Alumina is one of the largest and lowest-cost bauxite mining and alumina refining operations in the world. Worsley manages a bauxite mine, alumina refinery and port operations in Western Australia’s South West.

 

 

 

 

The opportunity

 

Reporting to the Superintendent Technical & Support, the purpose of the Production Analyst role is to provide specialist advice, execute continuous monitoring, analysis and benchmarking of the production function's end-to-end performance.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Identifies and implements improvement initiatives that enable functional excellence and support business priorities
  • Create and modify internal reporting tools and databases for production data
  • Continuously improves data integrity to ensure accurate reporting
  • Develops appropriate performance and compliance metrics and benchmarks equipment performance
  • Ensures timely and accurate reporting of daily and weekly production performance
  • Monitors equipment performance, completes targeted root cause analysis (RCA) and develops and implements improvement actions and monitor their effectiveness
  • Analyses performance of technical processes and/or work processes
  • Provides expertise to other sub-functions in analysis of performance indicators and metrics
  • Provides up to date equipment planning assumptions to the planning sub-function
  • Engage with production and planning sub-functions to identify improvement opportunities
  • Prepares the inputs to form the production budget

 

About you

 

  • Exceptional safety leadership with an ability to identify and eliminate hazards in the workplace
  • High proficiency in the use of SAP
  • Proficiency in MS office with advanced Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to negotiate, consult and interact with all levels in the organisation
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance or related fields.
  • Tertiary qualification in Mining related fields will be considered
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an Analyst role, ideally within the Mining and Resources sector
  • Proven analytical and diagnostic skills with experience in the areas of process analysis, cost benefit analysis and business systems analysis
  • Business improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean
  • Demonstrated written and oral English language proficiency
